  1. Monsanto does this in other countries too! shouldn’t be much of a shock
    to me but it was.

  2. Oh man, can´t wait to get the DVD!

  3. How many ways is Monsanto WRONG!! Please educate yourself on this issue.
Coming to a local farm near you (if there are really any left). Monsanto is
clearing the way to take over food production all over the planet. Kill off
the farmers (by suicide) and then take over all their lands.

*Bitter Seeds explores the future of how we grow things, weighing in on the
worldwide debate over the changes created by industrial agriculture.
Companies like the U.S.-based Monsanto claim that their genetically
modified (GM) seeds offer the most effective solution to feeding the
world’s growing population, but on the ground, many small-scale farmers are
losing their land. Nowhere is the situation more desperate than in India,
where an epidemic of farmer suicides has claimed over a quarter million
lives. Every 30 minutes one farmer in India, deep in debt and unable to
provide for his family, commits suicide.*

following Store Wars: When Wal-Mart Comes to Town and China Blue. The films
won 18 international awards, aired on over 30 television channels and
screened in more than 100 film festivals. They also connected viewers to
NGO action campaigns and encouraged Western consumers to understand their
impact on the rest of the world.

  6. Farmer suicide crisis began in India in 1997. GM seeds appeared five years
later. The suicide wave was triggered by farmers’ cost going so high they
weren’t able to pay their debts. Costs went high already with hybrid seeds,
because they were not sustainable. The high use of fertilizers was
depleting the soil, the cost of pesticides was rising because the insects
developed resistance. GM cotton seeds were originally attractive because
they grew plants which were toxic to cotton’s main enemy, the bollworm.
Farmers were told ‘your pesticide costs will be drastically reduced and
you’ll have a higher yield.’ This did not come to pass on neither the cost
nor the income aspects, and suicide rates have actually increased since the
    arrival of GM seeds

  7. It touched me deeply… You have got to watch this as well:

  8. Friday, Oct 16 at 6 pm (Location TBD) PLEASE come see the screening of
    Bitter Seeds….

The fight over GMO’s doesn’t end at the California border. Bitter Seeds is
a compelling film that focuses on the impacts of this “new farming” in
India, a country without the regulations for labeling or crop
cross-contamination we’re fighting for in the US, and highlights some of
its most surprising down-stream side effects.

PLEASE share with everyone you know who cares about where their food comes
    from!

  13. Monsanto is a company that is enslaving farmers worldwide, farmers have
been farming for thousands of years and never needed the help of a business
model that ensnares farmers to become dependant on it. Also, Monsanto has
its history with Agent Orange and the list goes on. Basically, I’d rather
eat sacred cow dung than genetically modified seeds from Monsanto, thanks.

  14. Independent research consistently demonstrates dangers of GMOs French
environment and agricultural ministers are seeking an EU-wide ban of
Monsanto’s MON810 Bt corn variety that is already outlawed in Hungary,
Austria, Germany, Greece, and Luxembourg. The EU commission approved this
crop in 2009, concluding that it “is as safe as its conventional
counterpart with respect to potential effects on human and animal health”.

  15. Newsflash: they can’t force you to buy their seeds. Just don’t and if it’s
all true they will quickly go out of business…

  16. Yes, but it is the Americans supporting Monsanto by purchasing the produce
grown from their seeds. Those NOT buying organic are supporting the demise
    of our food system.

  17. This was a beautiful movie and one that will be on your mind days after you
have seen it. Can’t recommend it enough.

  18. Be a good slave, go suck Monsanto, more than you ‘re actually doing.

  19. Pow PowPow!

  20. @Pergolesi4 You sound like someone representing Monsanto. With the usual,
stupid american way to battle uncomfortable facts – by saying it is
    “communism”.

  21. no you are dead wrong. the woman in this video has been touring Nova Scotia
spreading awareness of GMO foods and seeds. going to our farms and schools
she teaches how to do Organic farming, and spreads awareness of corporate
GMO manipulation. don’t be a fucking moron. GMO’s Kill people. how can you
say there is no argument? hundreds of people are dying. its all facts and
information. and it should appeal to your emotions if you have any.

  22. “GMO’s Kill people. ” OK. Name one.

the whole documentary ffs before you spout off . 3. FACTS , INFO and
ARGUEMENTS will probably be in the whole documentary (see#2). 4. Your brain
is made of cow dung and there is nothing sacred about it either. 5. I have
