After planting, a grapevine can bear fruit in just 2 years. One vine requires about 8 ft. of trellis or fence, with each plant producing on average about 15 lbs. of fruit per year.

  6. How do you make the grape vine produce grapes? Also how often should I water it? I live in Southern California in zones 9-11.

    what type of grapes did you plant?

  8. You should plant the grape vine deeper if you are in a cold climate…there is more chance for a shoot to come up from a severe winter kill that way.
