  1. Great video simplifying how to get started in gardening! I remember many
moons ago trying to figure all of this myself at one time. I read books and
went online and asked many peopl i knew who already had gardens. I was a
little overwhelmed. But some of the best advice is indeed grow what you
will eat and what you like! Grow more then you think if your going to “can”
any of it! And rotate your crops..and dont plant all at once!Alo dont buy
your seeds in the spring…if you can buy at the END of the season for the
best deals! I got a load of heirlom seeds online in midwinter..they were
like 35 centers a package!!! Cant wait for the growing season! Thanks for
your video..lots of farm noises back there!!

    Good vid! Thanks!
You’d be proud, I’ve got my 2015 garden planned out, drafted, counted every
seed, and spread the first layer of manure and organic fertilizers …
And yes, I ordered more seed and tested the ones I’ve saved myself….
This is the time of year, that a gardener gets to dream…
Then come pack down to earth… Dream,
    then think reasonably ..
I have so many seed and not enough yard ( on 3 ac.. 20 I can use in front
of me -my dad’s land )

  5. I too love okra, my family not so much. So I dehydrated a lot of my okra
this summer and then ground it into a powder. I add a table spoon to two
too all my soups, gumbo, Cajun dishes, casseroles, etc and they all eat it
just fine. I get the favor and nutritional benefit and they don’t know that
awesome extra bit of flavor is okra! I’ve almost used all that I put up
this summer and we are just getting cold weather here in TX. Definitely
will be growing more this summer.

  6. You are doing a wonderful job! I look forward to more videos. People need
inspiration to be more self reliant.

  7. Hello: Well I found out today my friend is going to Gatlinburg, Tenn. for
New Years. I was given the job of feeding the chickens while he’s gone. I
may need to kick the rooster again. I have been watching how to build a
chicken coop today. I am thinking up off the ground 2 or 3 feet. I thought
of using old rat wire for part of the floor where the adult chicks roost
and cover it in the winter. Just thinking.

plant em, and give them water?
