  1. I have a total of 25 tomato plants including 2 types of heirlooms, cherry tomatoes and 10 plants that are unknown… gardening vlog forthcoming. =)

  2. cool, I’m working on my’n and will have it up shortly. Thanks!

  3. only added lights – still using the hydroclea as it works well as an ebb-and-flow arrangement. I have also decided to only grow 1 type of crop (lettuce at the moment) to prevent any issues with different plants needing different nutrients / acidity

  4. oh yea, and did you modify your hydro set up any further?

  5. how much were the lights! Keep up the good work! :D

i want to put a bamboo forest near the back of my garden but the roots would go and break through the foundations of the building at the back of my garden which i dont own(its some vehicle servicing place)

  7. Nice to see some sunny things going on again! I wish I would have built some kind of conservatory. Very useful this time of year!

  8. Thanks for the kind comments :o )

I love your gardening videos. I’m very happy to see your hydroponic system is working better for you. I liked the camera change as you brought in your trays. Nice editing on that one. :)

I was always told to put the seeds in water for 24 hours then plant them – shit I’m not going to have ant tom’s this year.

  15. hi there :) !! Just wondering what kind of lights you had on. Are they T5 fluorescent lights?

  16. I’m so glad you’re still doing hydroponics.

  17. Apparently tomatoes were considered poisonous in Europe and U.S up to the 18th Century and were grown to be displayed as ornaments only.

  18. ive just started planting seeds as well (for the first time O.o wish me luck :P ) and can sadly say watching your videos end of last year was a huge influence.

  19. nice little one rick, now we farmin

  20. thank you :o ) glad you like it.

  21. Thanks :o )

  22. 3 x 24w bulbs approx 12-14 hours a day. I’m guessing about 10 – 20p per day to run, producing say 12 good lettuce every 6-8 weeks. Lettuce starts from about £1 each to buy for a reasonable one, so I’d imagine there are some slight savings to be made, but I’m not that bothered either way because there is just no substitute for the fun, pleasure and satisfaction of growing your own hydroponically – kinda makes life more agreeable :o )

  23. how much does running the lights cost you and is the yield of the plants worth the extra expense?

  24. ah yes i remember when we had our own garden :) we used to plant seeds we got from our own tomatoes :)

  25. Looks great Rick, good luck with them :-) )
