  4. …and it is still working though, since I live in Palm Springs, Ca. the sand is no challenge at all as opposed to Las Vegas where I also live and the soil is closer to solid rock !

  5. Actually, I’ve got a 3 prong cultivator that I bought at 99

  6. Thank you for the trowel test…I was just about to buy that !

  7. The stackable planters would be awesome for strawberries. [Gotta see if I can find these in the near future.] And if you drill through the center, using a piece of PVC, you could also drill holes in the PVC for use in a drip watering system ,in addition to stabilization.

Clay pots work awesome for everywhere but here in the desert, unless you seal them to prevent moisture loss.

Gotta look for the reusable plant ties, as they would be awesome for grape vines and even maybe berry canes.

  8. Aw, man! I just went to the dollar store an hour ago, but I wasn’t really looking for gardening stuff. I’ve got to run back and see what they have. Thanks for all your helpful videos!

  9. Oye! If they make those plastic pots in Israel, I wanna know where in Israel I can buy them :)

  16. If you use well rotted manure, those pots work well with “wild strawberries” (Fragaria), i.e. those little ones the size of raspberries. There are some nice scottish varieties you an buy the world over.

  18. Hey gang, what all can you plant in these? I bought 30 of them and so far I did lettuces, spinach and beets. I was thinking strawberries but I need more to plant. Ideas? Thanks!

  19. I bought the circle stacking pots, and they work alright for flowers or lettuce, but do NOT grow strawberries in them. And they just don’t really work too well, but for 99 cents you can’t go wrong.

  20. Those stacking plants seem to be nice. Unfortunatelly I wouldn’t buy since they are made in Israel, a country I boycott because of the occupation, apartheid and ethnic cleansing they are imposing upon the native Palestinian people.

  21. Holy Cow John!!!! You just solved my problem with the Gophers! I already got 30 of the stackable planters to grow more but you mentioned burying the terra cotta pots, so that’s what I am going to do in my beds! Thanks so much! We rewatched this video and I missed that part the first time so I guess I am going on another trip there. Thanks much!

  22. I did the same thing too with all the seeds I bought. I wish the heirloom companies were less expensive so I could afford them.

  23. Well, Atleast they didn’t kick you out like Walmart! I hope this store is about 2 doors down from Wallyworld. Thank you for being so dependable and informative, AND a regular video poster!!!! I appreciate your research and sound gardening advice!!! –Cee
