Are you prepared for a catastrophic event?
With the down trend of the US economy, bankruptcy in Greece and declining currency values around the globe, thinking about your future has never been more important than now. Survival seed and survival seed kits are becoming a popular trend in survivalist culture. These survival seed kits are large packets of various types of basic, essential, non hybrid vegetable seeds put together for their ease of growing and overall nutritional value.
Do I need Survival Seed, how do I start my own non hybrid garden?
If an economic collapse were imminent, wouldn’t you want to know that you and your family would be well feed, even when food was scares? Most survival seed is very easy to grow, needing only rain and sunlight, which luckily is completely free and widely available. Most survival seed kits come with over 20,000 seeds with dozens of types of vegetables and have a shelf life over 50 years if properly frozen.
How much can a Seed Kit produce?
A typical seed kit contains about 20,000 – 100,000 seeds depending on the seed pack size, which when properly planted will typically be over an acre in size and yield thousands of pounds of vegetables per year. These vegetables will yield even more seed so you now have a renewable resource to help keep your family fed for decades.
What kind of kit should I buy?
There are a few things to know when buying survival seed that you should look for:
1. Non Hybrid Seed– This the MOST important thing to look for because non hybrid seed allows you to collect seed from the yielded crops to replant more, hybrid seeds do not. Most all kits contain non hybrid seed, but this is something to make sure of before you buy.
2. Variety of Vegetables – Aside from the obvious benefits of taste and variety of meals, most vegetables suck a certain type of nutrient out of the soil more than another type of vegetable. When you are planting your seeds for your second harvest you will want to rotate your crops so your soil doesn’t become deficient in a certain nutrient. The more variety of vegetables you have the easier and better this works.
3. Non GMO (Genetically Modified) – Non GMO seeds last much longer, are healthier and contain the most nutrients then GMO seeds. This is of critical importance when you are selecting your survival seed.
The Government is stockpiling survival seed and so should you!If the powers that be are stocking up on these kits, then there should be no question in your mind, stock up soon, don’t put this important decision off, it could save not only your life but the life of thousands.
A great investment in your future
The best thing about survival seed kits is that even as their shelf life approaches. you can still use the seeds to create your own healthy vegetable garden. Even if a major economic collapse doesn’t happen, you will not have wasted your money and can still reap the benefits of growing your own healthy foods, something you can’t say about the vast majority of survival products.
